Comfortable and friendly atmosphere combine with wines and unique hand-crafted beers from around the world (including right here in Idyllwild) to create a special event during your Idyllwild visit. As if that weren't enough, Idyll Awhile also offers a tasteful pairing menu featuring hot and cold foods, including soup of the day, flat breads, artichoke dips, and cheese, meat, and fruit trays. Monthly wine and beer pairing events. A must-visit for that unique bottle of wine or beer, a tasting of a variety of wines/beers, a delicious bite, or all three.

A little more casual, with lots of outdoor seating and (often) live music. Very interesting menu featuring LOTS of garlic. Doubles as an art gallery with rotating work from local artists. Free wireless internet access.

​Pure Bean~ (951) 659-1379 The perfect mountain hideaway to curl up with a good book and a hot cider. Specialty coffees, warm cookies, fruit, and fresh pastries are also available to keep you company. Higher Grounds is certified organic and fair trade. You won't miss Starbucks while you're in Idyllwild!

​The Gastrognome ~ (951) 659-5055 

The local favorite, "special occasion" restaurant. Although all the restaurants in Idyllwild are pretty casual, The Gastrognome has a more upscale, "dining room" ambiance with a large fireplace. Relatively adventurous menu that is well executed.

La Casita ~ (951) 659-6038  54650 N. Circle Drive Idyllwild, CA 92549 

This is a no-nonsense Mexican restaurant that serves tasty food prepared with pride. You will find most of the dishes you would expect in a CA Mexican restaurant, but with nicer, fresher ingredients than the norm. The prices are very reasonable, and the staff accommodating. Try the .99 cent tacos on Monday and Thursday nights from 5 to 7 PM. The best way to enjoy La Casita is by eating on the patio, weather permitting.

This is a friendly comfortable restaurant right in the center of town. It is clean, good location, good parking, and great service. Prices are reasonable and the servings large. They have a good selection of omelets, sandwiches, soup, burgers, etc. This is a good find for breakfast and lunch.  Very "friendly and homey”.
